How to Build an Email List Fast (5 Shortcuts)

Jul 15, 2021

I’m going to tell you 5 ways you can build your email list so that you can have a larger number of potential customers to buy your products and services.

1. Create an Irresistible Freebie Offer

This involves creating a free offer or freebie that is so irresistible that people in your niche can’t help but try to obtain it. If conversion rates are low for that offer, either stack more value into that offering or reword the headlines and sentences for that offer.

In order to create an irresistible offer, you’ll need to find out what your target audience is most interested in. You could determine that by looking at your most popular blogs posts and videos or the most popular blog posts and videos of other creators. You could also find out what free offers seem to work extremely well for your competitors and model their success.

Examples of free offers you could use include:

  • A short “how to” tutorial
  • A checklist with step-by-step actions to achieve a goal
  • A list of recommended products and services in your niche
  • A short video course
  • A template for a software product that is used in your niche. For example, someone could provide a template for Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or Adobe Premiere Pro.

If you sell a digital product such as a course, ideally, it should be the next logical step in a customer’s journey after they use your freebie.

2. Create an Opt-in Page

An op-in page contains a description of your free offer and a simple form for visitors to enter their name and an email address.

This is a great page to have because you can easily share links to it on websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

Additionally, after someone enters their information on this opt-in page, platforms such as Kajabi and Clickfunnels can direct users to another page where you could upsell another offering.

3. Use a Quiz

You could embed a quiz on a page of your website. After web site visitors take the quiz, they’re prompted to join your email list to get the quiz results.

4. Facebook Ads

This involves using Facebook ads to direct people to an opt-in page to get a free offer.

You would only use this option if you’re willing to spend at least hundreds of dollars to build your email list relatively quickly.

In order to have your ads shown to people who are most likely to click the link in your ads, you’ll need to identify the interests that your audience would most likely have. The concept Dream 100 applies here. It involves identifying your ideal customers and identifying their favorite:

  • Influencers
  • Websites
  • Facebook groups
  • Podcasts
  • YouTube channels

Those are concepts that you could use as interests to send Facebook ads to your target audience.

You could also use Facebook’s “lookalike audiences” feature to target people who have the most interests to the people on your existing email list.

5. Create an Opt-in Popup

Popups are opt-in boxes that display as visitors browse through your website. Most website platforms allow popups to display on every page of your website. Typically, to make sure your website visitors have a good experience with your website, website platforms will let you only display popups as a visitor are about to leave a page and popups could only display one time per website session.
